Srinagar, Oct 07 (KNO): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday held a conference of 51 Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs) from Kashmir-based departments at its headquarters in Peerbagh, Srinagar, reviewing pending matters and stressing timely enquiries into complaints involving alleged misconduct by public servants.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the conference was inaugurated and chaired by Shakti Pathak, IPS, Director, ACB J&K, along with senior officers of the bureau.
The spokesperson said the Director ACB reviewed matters pending with the DVOs and stressed that old cases be expedited on priority.
He emphasised the need to conduct proper enquiries into complaints reflecting any element of misconduct by public servants and advised the DVOs to furnish enquiry reports that clearly bring out such misconduct.
The DVOs were also advised to remain vigilant about malpractices in their respective districts and departments and communicate with the ACB for further action if any deviation comes to their notice.
The spokesperson said a presentation on the roadmap for conducting enquiries by DVOs, along with relevant reading material as part of professional inputs, was also provided to the District Vigilance Officers—(KNO)
